The Gibraltar Health Authority and Public Health Gibraltar is announcing today that ANY person (aged 8 years or over) entering Gibraltar who has been to China, Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong, or Special Administrative Regions of Macao in the 14-day period preceding their date of arrival into Gibraltar must, at the point of entry into Gibraltar, report this information.
- If entering by land or by the Gibraltar airport, the information must be reported to an officer of the Borders and Coastguard Agency (BCA)
- If entering by vessel, the information must be reported to an officer of the Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA), if entering by vessel.
Air Arrivals from China, SAR Hong Kong, and SAR Macao in the 14-day period preceding entry into Gibraltar.
Any person (aged 8 years or over) arriving by air who has been to China, SAR Hong Kong, or SAR Macao in the 14 days preceding their arrival in Gibraltar will be required to adhere to the following:
- You will be required to buy a pre-departure COVID-19 PCR test and take this test within 48 hours prior to your arrival into Gibraltar.
- You should be prepared to present your valid vaccination certificate to airline staff prior to boarding.
- You must report the fact that you have been to China, SAR Hong Kong, or SAR Macao to an officer of the Borders and Coastguard Agency and be prepared to present your negative result / valid vaccination certificate on your arrival in Gibraltar.
- If you develop symptoms or feel unwell call 111 immediately. If calling from an international number, you must dial (+350) 20072266 and asked to be transferred to 111.
Land Arrivals from China, SAR Hong Kong, and SAR Macao in the 14-day period preceding entry into Gibraltar.
Any person (aged 8 years or over) arriving by land who has been to China, SAR Hong Kong, or SAR Macao in the 14 days preceding their arrival in Gibraltar will be required to adhere to the following:
- You must report the fact that you have been to China, SAR Hong Kong, or SAR Macao to an officer of the Borders and Coastguard Agency.
You will be required to either:
- Take a COVID-19 PCR test within 48 hours prior to your arrival into Gibraltar and present your valid vaccination certificate to an officer of the Borders and Coastguard Agency on entering Gibraltar; or
- Book your COVID-19 PCR test before arriving in Gibraltar to be taken within 24 hours of your arrival into Gibraltar. You will be required to contact a private test provider to arrange your COVID-19 PCR test. A list of approved private PCR Test providers can be found at the bottom of this page. You must consent to the private test provider advising 111 of your result.
- If opting to take a PCR test within 24 hours of arrival in Gibraltar, the following measures will also apply:
- You will be required to self-isolate immediately upon arrival and until such time as a person authorised by Director of Public Health has confirmed a negative result for your arrival PCR Test. If you are staying in a hotel, you must remain in your room and not use any of the public areas.
- Do not use public transport until you have received confirmation of a negative result of your PCR test.
