Job Summary
The Gibraltar Health Authority invites applications from suitably qualified Pathology Services Managers who, by virtue of their citizenship, are entitled to take up employment and who are or will be upon employment, resident in Gibraltar.
Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It is easily accessible from London, Bristol and Manchester with flight time of just over 2 hours.
The post is based at St Bernard’s Hospital, a modern facility situated by the waterfront offering stunning views of the Straits of Gibraltar and Northern Africa.
Language: English is the official language with Spanish widely spoken.
Applicants must provide strategic direction, operational leadership and quality assurance to the Pathology Department. The role is to ensure service excellence, regulatory compliance and cost-effectiveness while driving innovation and modernisation.
The post holder must have six years’ experience working in a senior management role.
Participation in the Pathology on-call roster will be required.
Applicants must be in possession of:
- A Degree in Biomedical Science (BSc) or related field
- Applicants must be registered with the Health & Care and Professions Council (HCPC)
- Completion of an IBMS accredited training program
- Postgraduate certification (e.g MSc in Biomedical Science or related field)
This appointment will be on indefinite terms on successful completion of a 12 months’ probationary period and carries the following salary scale: £80,428, £82,877, £84,510, £86,935, £89,361 & £91,786.
