Job Summary
Applications are invited for a full-time Consultant Radiologist, with a sub-speciality interest in ERCP, to join our existing team of five Radiologists in providing clinical care at Gibraltar Health Authority (GHA).
The Radiology Department is well set up to provide a modern and comprehensive radiology service, with three ultrasound rooms, a 128-slice CT scanner (Phillips, installed Aug 2015), one fluoroscopy room, one mammography room and two general x-ray rooms. There is currently no local MRI facility; MRIs are currently sent to us via PACS from a local provider.
The post holder will be expected to provide general Consultant Radiologist services including plain film, ultrasound, CT and MRI reporting. Additionally, rotational participation in the local Oncology MDTs is expected. Competence and experience in ERCP is essential – the GHA is committed to the development of an in-house ERCP service. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the provision of a rapidly expanding Radiology service. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the on-call service, with a 1 in 6 commitment. A standard week would consist of 8 sessions of direct clinical care and 2 sessions of supporting professional activities (SPAs).
Applicants must hold full registration with the UK General Medical Council, with a licence to practice, and must be on the Specialist Register.
This appointment will be on indefinite terms upon successful completion of a 12-month probationary period. Salary, dependent on experience, ranges from £113,919 to £140,563 per annum. In addition, the post holder will be paid a sum of 12% of the basic salary for undertaking on-call duties and a supplement of 18% of the basic salary in order to provide cross cover of colleagues, for whatever reason, up to a maximum of ten weeks per year.
Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact Dr Christopher Rodriguez, Clinical Director of Radiology via email at christopher.rodriguez@gha.gi for an informal discussion about the duties and responsibilities of the post.
Application packs, inclusive of application form and job description, may be obtained from GHA Workforce, via email at medicalhr@gha.gi.
Duly completed applications forms must be submitted to medicalhr@gha.gi by no later than 5 August 2026.
