The Millicent Mackintosh Maternity Ward aims provide the best possible care for mother and babies, from before conception throughout pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period.
The GHA has 3 Community Midwives running antenatal and postnatal clinics as well as Booking appointments and provide 2 clinic rooms and waiting area. For admissions there is a separate assessment room.
If admitted antenatally with any complications of pregnancy or in early labour, women will be housed in either a 2 bed antenatal bay and /or side room dependant on the needs of the patient.
There are 3 Labour Ward for deliveries and also have 2, 3 bed postnatal bays to house mothers and babies.
There is a Special care baby facility with two incubators for those babies requiring emergency and stabilisation special care.
