The Gibraltar Health Authority invites applications from suitably qualified persons who are in a substantive post, with a strong nursing background, for the post of Registered Nurse in Theatres. Applicants must, by virtue of their citizenship or residence status, be entitled to take up employment in Gibraltar and who are, or on employment will be resident in Gibraltar.

The applicant must be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual, assisting in the provision of a high standard of service delivery in accordance with clinical guidelines, policies and procedures. The post holder should also be in possession of excellent communication and interpersonal skills and relay information to a wider multidisciplinary group.

The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing patient needs and planning, implementing and evaluating a programme of care. They will utilize all available resources and take into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background of the patient, ensuring involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others.

Applicants must have theatre skills and experience to cross cover a number of surgical specialties such as Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Max Fax, Vascular, Gynaecology, Urology and ENT. Our Multi-Disciplinary Team within St Bernard’s Hospital caters for a diverse range of Surgical Specialties both from an elective and emergency perspective.

Applicants must be in possession of:

 

  • BSc in Adult Nursing
  • NRB Registration
  • Extended clinical skills relevant to nursing

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory at the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula, easily reached in just over 2 hours (flying time) from London, Bristol or Manchester airports. English is the official main language with Spanish widely spoken.

Non-EU nationals should note that a Schengen Visa is required in order to be able to transit through Europe. This is obtained from the applicant’s place of residence. Please note that Schengen Visas cannot be obtained through Gibraltar

Return economy class airfares from the UK are payable in full. A rented accommodation allowance is payable solely whilst on a fixed term contract and upon submission of an official rental agreement and a Gibraltar Civilian Registration card.
